Longhorn Upcycle Project

Hey guys!! Welcome to my first post of my new section "The Green Life." Check out the new "About" page for this section!! I decided to create this project over winter break with only a few items! I thought this project was a great way to make a school-spirited posterboard using only one Co-op bag! Here's how I did it:

One posterboard (the size is up to you! I used a 20x30in foam board)

One plastic bag (I used a UT coop bag that we get when buying something from the co-op, but there are so many different ways you could do this project! Get creative!)

Hot glue gun

Paper Posterboard

So first I googled a picture of a longhorn and attempted to free-hand it on the paper posterboard.

Next I cut the co-op bag into kind of slices. Like I said, there are so many different ways you could do this, so really any cut-out shape will look great!

Then I cut out the longhorn stencil and hot glued the co-op bag onto the cut out! After this dried, I trimmed around the stencil and wha-laa!

I was originally going to half the foam board but the stencil was too big so I improvised. It looked quite empty with just the longhorn on the foam board so I decided to make a border with the remaining co-op bag I had left!

This project is simple, easy, and a great way to show your school spirit! There are so many paths this project could take, so use your own creativity! Let me know in the comments if you decide to try this project or a similar one with your own twist!
